Making money online isn’t hard. The hard part is figuring out how to start, and learning how to make money online as a beginner because there are so many scams and predators out there. Guess who they target? Newbies.
The good news is that there are honest, legitimate internet marketers who have bottled their knowledge and resources and now seek to educate others. There are a LOT of ways to get started making money online. Following is a list of some of the most common ways people earn income from the internet.
1. Affiliate program
Affiliate marketing has boomed on the internet thanks to the ease of promotion. You can promote major retailers like Best Buy and Dell through places like Commission Junction, which affiliate with vendors who sell physical products. Or you can look for digital products from Clickbank, which is the leading network of digital products available. The great thing about affiliate marketing is that it costs nothing to sign up as an affiliate; all you need is the proper resources and knowledge to start building affiliate websites to point traffic to your vendors of choice. Then, when a visitor chooses to buy something, you get a commission. Commissions from Clickbank can pay even up to $100 or more.
2. Write your own ebooks
If you have a wealth of knowledge about a particular subject like horse riding, golfing, building your own house, making websites, or pretty much anything else you can think of, you can write your own ebook for little to know cost. Open Office is a great free program that you can download. It’s much like Microsoft Word, and you can use it to choose a good template for your ebook. It may cost you some initial startup money to market your ebook, but you can also simply distribute it for free on your own blog or website, and include an affiliate link to a related product if you choose.
Freelancing is becoming more and more popular on the internet because of how easy it is to network through websites like Guru.com, GetaFreelancer.com, Elance, etc. If you can write, design websites, or have any special skills at all, chances are someone out there needs it and will pay you to do it for them. The downside to freelancing is that there is a lot of competition, and most freelancing sites require that you subscribe and pay a membership fee.
4. Typing/data entry/medical billing
It’s true that there are data entry and typist jobs available online. It’s also true that they’re highly competitive and hard to get unless you have a shining resume or just get really, really lucky. If you really work at it and apply to numerous typist jobs, you may be able to score one. But they are volatile, and you need to make sure any company you go with is legitimate.
Blogging is undeniably popular these days. There are blogs out there on everything from fine chocolates to how to build your own chicken coop. If it exists, there are blogs about it. Again, if you have knowledge of a particular field, starting a blog (you can do it free from places like Blogspot) is a great way to go. Blogs can host your affiliate links and drive traffic to them if you fill them with enough quality content.
These are just a few of the many ways to make money online as a beginner. The great thing about working on the internet is that you have the freedom to choose what avenue you enjoy most. Think about your own interests and skills, and make a decision based on what you want to do. When you focus on delivering quality content, traffic will come naturally, and traffic = money.
